Pizza Time!

Make Our Own Pizza a

After having a really slow day yesterday, we decided to tackle  "making our own pizza" on our list.
Honestly, the kids were not at all excited about doing this particular event, but in my head it had to be perfect. Memories, right?

Mark and I had a conversation that went like this:
"Missie, you have this perfect in your head, but it isn't going to be like that."
"Hush, it will. We are going TO DO THIS, so everyone QUIET and SMILE."
(And if you are being honest with yourself... this happens in your household quite a bit too.  Sometimes, we just want the perfect picture to go along with how we see things in our own little heads, we get caught up in ourselves and everyone is miserable, including Mom. And then we all have a good laugh at how worked up Mom got because no one, admittedly, not even Mom, wanted to make the said pizza.)

Cough Cough.. back on our wonderful experience of making these pizzas.

We went to our lovely HEB and bought our ingredients for our little whole-wheat pepperoni pizzas. Caleb was having a hard time staying with us, so he helped "carry" the basket.

Once we got home, we decided that we would have a "girl's" pizza and a "boy's" pizza. This was great!  Lauren and I took it easy on the pizza sauce and cheese because Mark and Caleb hogged decided that they wanted a lot of sauce on their pizza. We had fun putting the pizzas together, and then popped them in the oven for a few minutes.

Lauren and I's pizza came out crispy, not looking like much, with only a little bit of it burnt.  Caleb and Mark's came out perfect.. sauce-y looking and all.

We then decided that we wanted to have a picnic in our front area, and if you know my children very well, you know that they like to get MESSY when they eat.  In fact, messy might just be an understatement, especially for Caleb, so we set a blanket underneath us to protect our already dirty carpet.

Then, it was CHOW-TIME!

Well, wouldn't you know.. the pizza sauce we chose was NOT VERY GOOD in large doses.. aka, Mark and Caleb's pizza, so the GIRL'S PIZZA was most popular.  Crispy, light on sauce and cheese, with delicious pepperoni on top.  Lauren did not like the pizza at all, and was happy with a peanut butter cracker and apples, and Caleb chewed half of a slice up, but I am not sure any made it to his stomach.

Needless to say, "Make our own Pizza" day was a bust.  Big ole' bust!  Our only fun part was that I got upset that no one was taking it seriously (sometimes I can be crazy like that,)... HA.. and that we ate it picnic-style in our front living area.

Pizza-making day may not make it on our list next summer.

Sit back, relax, let go and have fun.
Jesus loves you.
