A day in our life...

Yesterday was a busy day for our family.

I brought both kids and both dogs to Petsmart to get groomed. The dogs, not the kids.  That would just be silly. Our daschund, Benny, has literally been a rotten dog for the past few months, and was not excited about being groomed. (He chewed up 4 of Lauren's shoes, and 3 of mine.) He peed all over the place.  I was a little frustrated due to the lack of poor customer service, Bailey, our basset hound, was slowing wrapping her leash around me, and Benny was just not having any part of it.  So, I was a comedy act: balancing the dogs, trying to get the kids to stay in one place, and cleaning up dog urine so no one would step on it.  Petsmart wouldn't take Benny. I had to muzzle him and take him to the vet to get his nails trimmed.  Since Benny didn't get to stay, we had to cancel our lunch plans, drop Lauren off at her destination early, and head home.  So much work for one little dog!  Since Benny and Bailey will be spending some time with their Grandparents over the next few days, Caleb and I decided to give him a bath so he would at least smell as nice as Bailey.

My sweet Lauren is going to be a flower girl in our sweet friend's wedding in August.  (Caleb is going to be the ring-bearer too.)  Ms. Kelsey wanted to have a girl's day with Lauren Lou and took her to lunch and boot shopping.  Lauren had a GREAT time with Kelsey and her friend, and even modeled the boots for Mark last night.

When did my sweet little girl turn into a little lady?

After Lauren came home, the kids and I asked Ms. Kelsey if we could treat her to our favorite snow cones.  These snow cones are heavenly!  The snow cone stand we go to is in Boerne, located at the intersection of 46 and Main Street.  It is right by a busy road, but the City of Boerne is re-doing the property by the river, so once that is all complete, it will be a great place to walk around and feed the ducks.

My kids LOVE Ms. Kelsey to pieces and are honored and excited that she asked them to be in her wedding. We love you Ms. Kelsey and are looking forward to you becoming Mrs. Kelsey McManus!

Our day could have ended there, but when Mark came home from dropping the dogs off at Gram and Pa-Pa's house, he brought the kids to Wal-Mart to pick out toys.  Now, if you know my husband, he doesn't offer to buy the kids a new toy very often, so this was kind of a big deal.  And, he was fulfilling a promise he made to Lauren, offering to buy her any toy she wanted if she went down the water slide at the pool the other day.  She did, he paid.  They were gone for almost two hours, which was beautiful silence for me.  After Mark offered to buy them ANYTHING they wanted, hoping they would both choose bicycles, Caleb chose the Cooties game and a 150 piece puzzle, and Lauren chose "lipstick" (Princess lip gloss) and a 24 piece puzzle.  Needless to say, they are their Mother's children, I do love a good puzzle, and we had a great time for the remainder of the night playing Cooties with Daddy, and doing the 150 puzzle with me.

Maybe today will be a little more slow-paced.  :)

Sit back, relax, let go and have fun.
Jesus loves you.
