a new day

This is a big day in the Swayze household.

Sweet Lauren has a brand new BIG GIRL room...

that comes with...

drum roll please....

a BIG GIRL bed!

Mark spent the weekend painting our old guest bedroom pink, and by Sunday night, Lauren was ready to sleep in her new bedroom. I am more sad about this than anyone. I can no longer put her video monitor on her and watch her sleep. She is no longer my sweet little baby who slept so good in her crib.

BUT, I am also elated to share that she slept in her bed ALL night last night, and did not get off. I even opened the door to check on her, and she told me to "get out Mommy." She sleeps in the complete dark, with no night-light and no noises. (The no night-light might change once we start potty-training though.) In fact, she is finishing up her nap, and once again, slept the whole time in her bed, without getting out. (Now, I know this will change, but, for now, it makes me very happy.)

Lauren has always surprised us with how easily she transitions from one thing to the next: bottles to sippy cups, nursing to milk to food, and most importantly her sleeping patterns. How nice would it be if she has a GREAT transition to her new baby brother in a few months.

Hooray for smooth transitions! She will have plenty of time to adjust to her new room and bed before having to adjust to a sibling. Love the photo...I remember those days with fondness.

Missie! I can't believe she's in a big girl bad now. I have been gone way too long. Hopefully Lauren will still want to be my friend when I come back to SA.
