Things can change in one week...
My sweet daughter, who, at the beginning of the week, could not: a) sit up by herself, b) crawl, c) feed herself, and d) no signs of teeth. Monday night, after a baby shower, we put Lauren in her crib for a few minutes, and when we went to check on her, she was sitting up. ADORABLE! It is fun to watch her sit up because she starts on her stomache and rolls and rocks her way up. Wednesday night, I gave Lauren Cheerio's to play with while I was getting her dinner ready, and lo-and-behold, to my surprise, she stuffed her fist into her mouth- with one Cheerio tucked into her palm. After sucking on her fist, she pulled it out, and left the Cheerio in her mouth! This is a big step for us... this means I don't have to sit and feed her EVERYTHING! She also is now able to hold her own bottle.. which is a beautiful thing for a mother or father. Free hands again! Then, tonight, Lauren army-crawled about one foot! That is one foot of wonderful carpet! When she is tired of trying and she gets upset, she lays her head down, puts her thumb in her mouth and hums to herself! She is precious! I also stuck my unsuspecting finger in her mouth tonight, and got a rigid surprise on her lower gum. Yay for teeth, and now I know why she has been FUSSY and GRUMPY all week long! Oh, I could go on and on and on about Lauren.. she is so easy to talk about.
For Mark and I... this has been a good week. We bought the rest of the paint for our house, now we just have to put it to use. I am ready to hang pictures and make our house "homey" for the holidays. I love decorating for the holidays and having the house all warm and cozy. San Antonio is supposed to get a cold front tonight, so, I am really looking forward to waking up for my mommy walk tomorrow morning. I also get to bundle my babe up because she has a doctor's appointment.. my sweet girl has acid reflux pretty bad and her poor voice is hoarse. (There I go, back to Lauren.)
Oh.. I love Private Practice.. Love it, love it! Grey's is great, but Private Practice is quickly growing up the ranks in my book. Also rising: Brothers and Sisters (although always depressing.. always,) Pushing Daisies, and Ugly Betty. I usually watch the shows online now, since I am running around or taking nice walks during the regular hours.
